Read John 11

In raising Lazarus, Jesus shows His calm authority over life and death and offers every believer unshakable peace now and eternal life beyond the grave.

Instead of rushing, He waits—then arrives in Bethany to call Lazarus out of the tomb after four days. Pastor Gary highlighted how Jesus’ deliberate delay reveals His character and God’s glory, and how the episode reframes our view of death. Two driving questions shaped the message: (1) What traits of Jesus should we emulate? (2) What truths about death should we anticipate? By examining Christ’s poise, devotion, and purpose, the sermon urged believers to trust God’s timing, resist fear, and anchor their hope in the resurrection life Jesus promises.

Remember: God is never late. His purposes may require waiting, but His love is certain. Commune with God until His peace guards your emotions.
