Read Matthew 20, 21
God’s anger is real and righteous, yet He is slow to anger, abounding in mercy, and His wrath is fully satisfied through Christ.
God can and does get angry when His holiness is violated and His people are exploited. He traces five common attitudes and actions that provoke divine anger, drawn from both Old and New Testaments (Refusing God’s call, Complaining, Idolatry, Disobeying God’s Word, Failed spiritual leadership).
Yet the message does not leave listeners in fear: Scripture also proclaims that God’s anger lasts only a moment, His favor for a lifetime, and that Jesus’ sacrifice absorbs God’s wrath on our behalf. The sermon calls believers to examine their lives, repent where needed, and rest in God’s enduring mercy.
