Read Matthew 16, Mark 8
Skip traced five clear steps Jesus gives for anyone who would be His disciple. First comes desire: the inner craving that drives us to Christ. Desire must be followed by denial, disowning the self-life. That leads to death—taking up the cross in willingness to lose everything. Only then can we walk in daily devotion, traveling the same road with Jesus. Finally, there is destiny: those who “lose” their lives for Christ actually find them, while keepers become losers. Throughout, Skip contrasted a fan with a follower, a tourist with a traveler, and challenged listeners to be “dissolved” into Christ so His life is seen through ours.
