Elohim- Creator God

Elohim created the world and His power is mightily displayed in His creation for all to witness. “Since the creation of the world His invisible attributes, His eternal power and divine nature have been clearly seen, being understood by what has been made, so that they are without excuse.” Romans 1:20

Creation proves God.

Creation not only proves the existence of Almighty God, but it also displays His glory for all to see. Breathtaking beauty, incredible forces of power, awe inspiring splendor, and immense panoramas stir our hearts to worship the Creator God. “Worthy are you, our Lord and God to receive glory and honor and power, for You created all things; by Your will they exist and were created.” Rev. 4:11

Living here in the mountains of Tehachapi provides me a constant prompt to be in prayer. Everywhere has a view; looking up from the valley floor in any direction, the grandeur of looking down from the heights, or seeing different wrinkles of the mountainside. Each is unique and beautiful.

Psalm 121:1-2 has become my mantra;
“I lift my eyes up to the mountains- where does my help come from? My help comes from the LORD, the maker of heaven and earth.”

This takes my mind from all the planning or spiraling I do as I drive or in doing tasks and refocuses my eyes on my creator God.

In looking at creation around us I see Gods power and majesty; Elohim, who created the sun, moon, stars, and mountains. The precise design and steadfastness in location and movement, that they can be used for navigation.

I see His beauty and artistic character in the painted sunsets, and the hillsides of wildflowers. The poppies in the spring are wonderous, but so is the sunflower growing in the crack where nothing should survive. Even God’s provision and faithfulness are seen in your surroundings, I am amazed at the immense love He displays. Our world could be completely without color, just like an old black and white TV show!

Yet, Elohim uses many more shades than crayons have colors. It could be just because He’s perfection, but I think he loves to delight us. The confession that “My help comes from the Lord” shows He is not just our creator, but our Sovereign Lord. He leads us, provides and cares for us, and He is trustworthy and reliable and we look to him for our guidance and our strength.

Even if you live without the mountain views inspiring you to worship and thanksgiving; Gods creation is around you- calling to your soul.

Respond in prayer at the sight of His beautiful flowers, or a glorious sunset- whatever moves you to see Him. If you talk to God whenever He displays His glory, you will be praying unceasing.
To His Glory,
Debbie
