Read Deuteronomy 14,15,16
Pastor Brian opens with 1 Corinthians 10:34. He reminds us to do everything to the glory of God.
When you graciously give to the Lord, He graciously gives it back in different ways. When you sanctify the 10%, it tests your heart and then sanctifies the other 90%. God doesn’t need your money.
Has the Lord ever released you from debt? How about your salvation? The blessings of God ought to make us want to be a blessing to others. You’re giving is a heart issue.
God opens His hands generously to us. We should open our hands widely to others. Giving is rejoicing. 2 Corinthians 9:7. God loves a cheerful giver. Cultivate a glad heart as you learn how to be generous.
Tithing is pre-law. Start somewhere when giving. Watch how God will boost it from there.
Remember, you were a slave. Bondservant… You and I when we get saved. Choose to serve Jesus even though He has set you free.
Paul gives us the key to giving. 2 Corinthians 8:5. First – give yourself to the Lord. Second – Give to one another in loving service. Give your best to the Lord – your first fruits.
Whose job is it to take care of those in need? God lays on the well provided the responsibility for relieving poverty as best as they can and relieving suffering whenever possible. God’s goodness to us should stimulate our generosity towards others. God provides manna equally. The church should do no less. You need to work out your generosity with God.
Listen to these statistics from 2014. What do you think giving looks like today?
“Generosity is not about money. It is about the spirit of generosity.” -JS
Ask for a desire to give. The word “give” is written more than 2000 times in the Bible. You can live without giving, but you cannot love without giving. How do we help our world’s poor today? Be careful with your good intentions.
Remember to be generous.
