Read Exodus 13,14,15

Pastor Paul shows us that when you dig into the Old Testament you will see God’s grace, mercy, patience, long-suffering… everything is very pronounced.

Thank the Lord that we are able to be under the shelter of the blood of the Lamb. Passover is a foreshadowing of the work Christ did on the cross.

1 Corinthians 5:7b

Your position does not distinguish the consequences of sin without the blood of the Lamb.

Passover is so significant that it starts the beginning of their year and of a nation. Here it can be a sheep or a goat for sacrifice. It’s hard to tell the difference in that region. In the New Testament there is a separating of them to show that man may not be able to distinguish the difference between sheep and goats but God can. Why is this significant?

The lamb is a picture of Jesus. This a commemorative ceremony.

Yeast in the Bible represents sin.

The festival comes after Passover. The Feast of Unleavened Bread. God wants to make the point that the sacrifice of Jesus is sinless.

It is important to teach to our children what God has done for us. How long does it take for an observance to become an empty religious ritual? Mankind has a propensity to add to the Word of God with empty religious things.

Death is everywhere. The Lord watches over them.

Circumcision is the sign of the covenant between God and Israel. This celebration is for those under the covenant.

The consecration of the first born is to remember the first born was saved. They’re Gods.

Everything the Lord tells the people to do has a purpose behind it. God is teaching them that salvation has a choice. God gave His Son’s life for us. When it comes to being unclean, you either redeem it with a lamb or it dies. We either get redeemed or we die.

There is nothing good about sin and what has to be done to take care of it. The way Jesus suffered on the cross was horrific.

And He did it for you!!!

It was necessary. We have a choice. God doesn’t send people to hell. They choose it for themselves. Salvation is a free gift from God.

The area that God does not take them through is today’s Gaza Strip. God doesn’t lead them directly to the Promised Land. But, the Lord guides them every step of the way.
