Read Genesis 12,13,24,15

Pastor Skip Heitzig’s view from 30,000 feet for the rest of Genesis.

The rest of this book is about the beginning of the nation of Israel. The emphasis of four great men… Abraham, Isaac, Jacob and Joseph. We will see all that God will accomplish.

We, like these men will experience hardships. Our faith will never grow just in blessings.

We will be introduced to Melkizadek, interpreted as a Christophony- an appearance of Christ.

We will begin to be taught about covenants. If you fail to understand this covenant that God makes with Abraham, you will fail to understand Israel’s importance.

We will see how when God gives a command, you don’t have to know the answer, you have to obey by faith.

God will destroy Sodom and Gomorrah for many reasons. Most overlooked are told in Ezekiel 16: pride, laziness, gluttony and mistreating the poor and needy.

Love will be mentioned for the first time. The love of a father and his only son to be given as a sacrifice.

We will see that God is able to do anything… even what seems insurmountable to us.

All of what God is doing through the lives of these men and circumstances point to our Messiah.
