JESUS IS OUR LIVING HOPE
“Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, which according to his abundant mercy hath begotten us again unto a living hope by the resurrection of Jesus Christ from
the dead.” — 1 Peter 1:3
Hope is something we all need.
There are seasons when hope comes easily. We can see the possibilities ahead, we can imagine things getting better, and we can look toward tomorrow with anticipation.
But then there are seasons when hope feels difficult.
When the answer hasn’t come.
When the door hasn’t opened.
When the situation hasn’t changed.
When we have prayed and prayed, yet nothing seems different.
This is where Jesus becomes more than our hope—He becomes our LIVING HOPE.
Our hope isn’t built on circumstances, or our feelings. It isn’t based on everything working out the way we planned. Our hope isn’t found in people, possessions, health, finances, or even in our ability to figure things out.
Our hope has a name: JESUS.
Peter calls it a “living hope”—a hope that is alive because Jesus is alive.
The resurrection changed everything.
The grave could not hold Him.
Death could not defeat Him.
Darkness could not overcome Him.
And because Jesus lives, our hope lives.
When something in our life dies—when a dream dies, when a relationship changes, when a season comes to an end, when circumstances seem impossible—we can still have hope because our hope isn’t dependent upon what is happening around us.
Our hope is dependent upon WHO is with us. And if you are a Christ follower, HE is with you.
Jesus doesn’t promise that we will never walk through difficult places. But He promises that we will never walk through them alone.
There may be days when we don’t understand what God is doing, but we can still trust who God is.
There may be moments when we can’t see the way forward, but Jesus already sees the end from
the beginning.
There may be times when our circumstances say, “It’s over.”
But Jesus says, “I am not finished.”
That is living hope.
Hope that breathes.
Hope that stands.
Hope that endures.
Hope that looks beyond today.
And perhaps the most beautiful thing about our Living Hope is this:
Our hope is not merely that things will get better. Our hope is that Jesus will always be enough.
JESUS IS OUR LIVING HOPE.
So when life feels uncertain, don’t look first at your circumstances. Look at Jesus.
When your heart is discouraged, look at Jesus.
When the future feels frightening, look at Jesus.
When you don’t know what tomorrow holds, remember this:
You may not know what tomorrow holds—but you know WHO holds tomorrow.
And that is enough.
