Read 2 Chronicles 32,33
Pastor Paul traced Judah’s history from Hezekiah’s sweeping reforms to the shocking reign of his son Manasseh. Although Hezekiah had trusted God during crises and cleansed the land of idolatry, he failed to pass that legacy to his child. Manasseh reversed every reform, plunging Judah into practices worse than the Canaanites God once expelled. Prophets warned, yet he ignored them until Assyria dragged him away in chains. In captivity Manasseh finally humbled himself, prayed, and discovered that the Lord is not only just but profoundly merciful. God restored both the king and the kingdom. The sermon then applied this story to people who feel they have sinned past forgiveness, showing that God’s mercy still abounds. A brief look at Manasseh’s son Ammon illustrated the danger of repeating old sins and of taking judgment into our own hands.
