Father God,

In Your Word, the prophet Micah (6:8) tells us what is good and what the LORD requires of us: to act justly, love mercy and walk humbly with our God.

Yet we find it easy to condemn the sin in others but overlook the sin in our own lives. Instead we want to look at others through your just eyes, knowing you died to pay the penalty for their sin as you did for ours. Justice was served at the cross.

We want to walk humbly with you, grateful for the grace you extend to us every day. We want to show mercy to others just as you show great mercy towards us.

Only by the power of the Holy Spirit can we do this; so we submit to you and ask you to fill us, giving us the grace to do what you require of us; that is to act justly, love mercy and walk humbly with you.

In Jesus name we pray, Amen
