“NO HIGHER CALLING”
Down at your feet, Oh Lord,
Is the most high place.
In your presence Lord,
I seek your face,
I seek your face.
Down at your feet, Oh Lord,
Is the most high place.
In your presence Lord,
We seek your face,
We seek your face.
There is no higher calling,
No greater honor,
Than to bow and kneel before
Your throne.
I’m amazed at your glory,
Embraced by your mercy.
Oh Lord, I live to worship You.
Story Behind:
“NO HIGHER CALLING”
No Higher Calling was written in the early 1990s by Christian songwriters Lenny LeBlanc and Greg Gulley.
It was famously popularized (in the early 90’s) by the men’s ministry Promise Keepers.
The song’s lyrics reflect the biblical theme that humility (which Christ showed every day of His earthly life) and surrender (which Christ did by ALWAYS doing His Father’s will)—is represented by believers bowing at God’s feet—(which displays both humility and surrender) this is the highest honor and the MOST profound act of worship a person can offer!
