Practicing Grace…by being content at home and serving our families. Proverbs 31

Practicing Grace…by kindness, gentle, sympathetic and tenderness.
Ephesians 4:32

Last week to discussed planning and organization.
Today let’s go over finances.
Finances often cause stress in the family. It’s important to establish a budget. Based on income and needs.
It will vary from time to time. Job changes amount of children and
caring for extended family. Take into consideration home repairs and health issues.

Much prayer and planning must be done together. Seek God’s help to live within your family budget. Also take advantage of many Christian resources.

Meal planning and grocery shopping.
Use a planning chart and plan ahead. List foods needed for the week. Hint…don’t shop when hungry. Grocery shopping can develop into a skill.
If you’re fortunate to have others in your life and grocery shop alone
it’s a great time to do so. The less stress going down those isles the better. Dad can have time with the littles. Have grandparents come over or drop them off at their house.
Little extra time with those influencers, can impact the lives of your children.

Check adds for sale items. If budget permits buy in bulk, especially meats.
Use those coupons. Check for rebates. Purchase BOGO items. Try store brands, some are manufactured by the same companies that sell same product, just different labels.

Remember when on a budget…needs before wants. Do you pack school and work lunches? Saves money and you know what is being eaten. (Hopefully)

With food allergies and contents of packaged food these days, be aware.
Occasionally a little extra sugar, well kids will be kids. Make your own coffee or tea, those dollars add up!Buy seasonal fruits and vegetables. God planned it that way! For our health.

If you’re that gal…plant a garden. Form a co-op with friends or join an existing one. Farmers markets. Fresh produce…YES!

Happy planning and shopping.
