Celebrating recovery with growth!!
Last Saturday, CTS hosted our first Quarterly Refresh with Hats Off to Women! I was blessed with the opportunity to speak about growth in the Lord.
Ladies, we cannot change without growth, and we cannot grow without digging into our past to figure out why we do what we do. With our Father, digging through the baggage, creates a deeper relationship with Him and allows us to feel and hear what He wants for our lives.
I chose to speak about the gardener’s hat and this is how it went:
Good Morning Sisters!!! Will you please join me in the garden……
Today, we’re going to be getting our hands dirty as we dig deep into the soil of our lives and our connection to our Lord, Jesus Christ.
Often, we find ourselves questioning what our purpose is? What are the spiritual gifts that God has given to us? How do we know? How do we use them? I know that I have often wondered what my gift or gifts are, and upon knowing what they are, I want an owner’s manual to teach me how to use them! But, as I have grown in Christ and my own bulbs are blossoming, I’ve learned that we do indeed have an owner’s manual in the Holy Bible.
The Bible holds many lessons. The journey lies in taking the time to lay the foundation, digging deeper into the depths of the soil, and sometimes, this can become uncomfortable. Peeling away the layers of dirt to get to the bottom of the deep rich soil.
Once there, we can slowly discover our purpose, like a seed planted in the earth.
Just as we care for the lilies from seed to bloom, Luke 12:27 tells us to have faith that God will care for our needs. Just as He provides the soil and the rain for the lilies to bloom, we must have a deeper trust in God to allow us to let go of anxiety and any concerns to prioritize spiritual matters.
Eventually the seed sprouts and reveals its true beauty. In Matthew 13:37-38, Jesus tells us that if we have faith as small as a mustard seed, nothing is impossible.
Fertilize your faith, taking care to add nutrients and water.
Colossians 1:10 says: So that you may life a life worthy of the Lord and please Him in every way; bearing fruit in every good work, growing in the knowledge of God.
Celebrate the seasons! Even when they’re messy. The season of growth will bring about change. Today your seed could be trembling in the deep, dark, cold soil that it has been planted in. Without TLC, it will not blossom. Water and care for your seed with encouragement from scripture, prayer, and other believers.
Eventually, your seed will sprout and will reveal what it was always meant to be. The seeds potential is unlocked, and its purpose is revealed through embracing each and every circumstance that God has brought to you. Take care of it, don’t let the thorns and weeds crowd your beautiful blossom.
Matthew 13:37-38: The one who sowed the good seed is the Son of Man. The field is the world, and the good seed stands for the people of the kingdom.
And Sisters, we all strive to be the people of the kingdom. So, when your bulbs are budding and your blossoms are abundant, NOW is the time to share your harvest.
In the words of Erika Kirk:
“The seed has been planted;
And for the believers:
Shepard the people, water the seed of their faith
Protect it and help it grow.
FAITH IS A HABIT
The more you live it-the more it grows.
Break free from the temptations and shackles of this world”
Ladies, encourage the spiritual growth of others!
As in Matthew 5:16: In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.
Dear Lord, help us to continue to grow in you so that we may develop deep roots to sustain us, even through any difficulty we may face. Help us to gain an understanding through your Holy Spirit as we learn and blossom by applying the truth of your word. Jesus, we thank you for your guidance and we ask for your strength as we spread your word like seeds in the wind. Ladies, can I get an AMEN!!
