Let’s Celebrate the Season of Recovery!! Good morning! Today we’re going to talk about finding joy in the journey.
We are far from perfect. I know for myself, I sometimes get down on myself whenever negative thoughts enter my mind. What’s worse is when we justify them! Or, when we let that negativity fill our head, making us feel unworthy, unloved or just a complete failure. Just know, that’s the devil attacking thoughts & actions to steal our joy.
It doesn’t matter how messy things get, let Jesus meet you in your mess. If the devil continues to interrupt the day, your thoughts can lead to action, and as addicts, we know where that dark road can lead.
Temptation is powerful! We must seek the will to overcome. Psalms 46:1 “God is our refuge and strength, an ever present help in trouble.”
Call on the Lord, Help already knows that you’re struggling. He wants you to lean on Him. And when you do, Celebrate! This is a joyous occasion, let Jesus fill your heart and Spirit. Let Him lead the way out of your darkness. Celebrate the light! Don’t let these troubled times steal your joy!
Every step of this journey, no matter how messy it is, is one more step to a relationship with our Father, Jesus Christ. Luke 15:10 “In the same way, I tell you, there is rejoicing in the presence of the angels of God over one sinner who repents.”
Instead of punishing yourself when you are tempted or negative thoughts sneak in, Celebrate that God has given you tools to overcome!!
Proverbs 3 is full of wisdom that bestows well-being, keep it bookmarked and refer to it often!
3:1-2 “My son, do not forget my teaching, but keep my commands in your heart, for they will prolong your life many years”.
3:5-6 “Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways, submit to him and he will make your paths straight.”
Celebrate today! If you’re active in your addiction, celebrate that you’re seeking a better life! If you’re struggling with negative thoughts or desires, celebrate that there are choices. Today’s choice in Jesus is tomorrow’s victory!!
Addiction leading to depression? Are you not seeing an end in sight? Tired & weary of being sick & tired? We can help!! Let us help you find your light!!
