Ecclesiastes 3:1 – “There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under the heavens.”
This season of my life, having just celebrated my 56th birthday, has kept me on my toes.
There has been a ton of activity, change, and ……emotions.
My twins graduated from high school with my son currently at home, working full-time and planning his education & future.
My daughter moved 200 miles away to attend college.
My husband recently retired.
We lost my mother-in-law in July.
I have loved ones with serious health issues.
I have loved ones who do not know the Lord.
The news.
Have I done enough as a Mom?
I’ve felt deep anxiety, anger, confusion, worry, resentment, sadness, pride, guilt & humility; and wondered if this is how it will be forever.
Then I remember my current favorite phrase: The Mighty Name of Jesus.
I picture my Savior seated at the right hand of God – and I smile and feel pure joy & peace in my heart & soul. A reminder that God is in control, not me….no matter how hard I try.
As I draw nearer to Christ, deepening my faith through Bible reading, prayer, and sermons, I can feel the enemy trying harder to shake me. It’s a reminder that I’m on the right path.
There are plenty of things for me to worry about, but there are plenty of things for which to be thankful.
Philippians 4:6 – “Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your request to God.”
I’m thankful that I’m a child of God and I pray about 5-10 times a day. His timing is perfect and He loves me.
